Most UK airports have flights on Tuesdays and Fridays throughout the year and depending on what date you travel the flight prices can vary quite widely. However, there are now flights virtually any day of the week on schedule flights. The average flying time to Tenerife is around 4 hours.

The language in Tenerife is a dialect of Castilian Spanish, but is so similar to Castilian that you can't really tell much difference! There are noticeable differences in their accent, but to get you started here are a few phrases :

SPORTS FACILITIES
There are plenty of sports for you to do or try in Tenerife and especially in Playa de las Americas.
There are obviously the watersports. Most of the beaches have small kiosks, where you can hire equipment or get lessons. Please check the small print though, because many of the forms you sign contain a "No liability" clause!

If watersports is not your thing, there are always dry sports to do !! There are many tennis, squash an badminton courts available locally.
Try the "Football Stadium," in Playa de las Americas, many sports are available there, including an athletics track, gym...
If none of these sports attract you, there are always the many golf courses around the Island. The GOLF LAS AMERICAS, in Playa de las Americas, just in front of the complex of Las Floritas, is a fairly new 18 hole golf course. Obviously there is Amarilla Golf which is further up the TF-1 motorway, close to the airport.Check out our GOLF page for more details -
There are always plenty of gyms, if you want to simply workout. Most of them run aerobics classes at least once a week, just look for the sign saying "gimnasio" ("gym")
